LEADERSHIP

Major General Md Majibur Rahman, OSP, PPMS, ndc, psc was born on 16 june, 1968 in Narayanganj, Bangladesh. He was commissioned on 24th June, 1988 with 18th BMA Long Course in the corp of Infantry, Bangladesh Army. He took over the command of Special Security Force as Director General on 6th August, 2018.

General Majib attended several professional courses both at home and abroad. His foreign courses include Mid Carrier Course in Pakistan, Army Staff Course and NDC Course in India. He is a graduate of prestigious Defence Services Command and Staff College, Mirpur. Apart from the military courses the General obtained Masters on Defence Studies from National University and Masters of Science in Defence and Strategic Studies from Madras University, India.

The charismatic veteran possesses wide ranging experience in Command, Staff and Instructional appointments. He commanded an Infantry Battalion and an Independent Infantry Brigade of Bangladesh Army.  As a staff, he was the Brigade Major of an Infantry Brigade, General Staff Officer Grade-Ⅱ (Military Operations Directorate), General Staff Officer Grade-Ⅰ (Military Intelligence Directorate), Colonel GS of Directorate General of Forces Intelligence of Dhaka Det, Additional Director General Operations of Rapid Action Battalion Headquarter and Additional Director General of Boarder Guard Bangladesh.

As an Instructor, he was Instructor of weapon and Tac wing, Chief Instructor of Tac wing in School of Infantry and Tactics and Directing Staff in prestigious Defence Services Command and Staff College, Mirpur.

General Majib organized and attended various multi-national workshop on national and international security, peace-keeping operations and training exercise both at home and abroad. The General served under the Blue Helmet as contingent member in United Nations Mission in Somalia and Congo.

The General is a widely travelled person and a keen golfer. He is happily married to Mrs Tasrin Mujib. The couple is blessed with two sons and one daughter.
